Qlique helps people in Qatar find and host small community meetups. We collect as little about you as we can, and only to run your account and keep meetups safe. We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who is responsible for your data
Qlique is run by [YOUR FULL NAME], Doha, Qatar, who is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, email [MEETRA CONTACT EMAIL].
What we collect
- Account details: the name or nickname you choose.
- Signing in with Google: Google shares your email address and name with us, and confirms your email. We don't get your Google password, and we don't store your Google profile picture.
- Flags and languages, only if you add them: up to two flags for where you're from and up to five languages you speak. They're optional, shown only to people at the same meetups (in the attendee list and group chat), never used to filter or exclude anyone, and you can remove them any time in Profile.
- Profile photo, only if you add one: it's optional, stored privately, and shown only to people at the same meetups as you. Before upload, the app shrinks it and removes hidden details phones add, such as the location where it was taken. Removing it or deleting your account deletes it for good.
- Gender, as you choose to tell us: woman, man, or prefer not to say. It's optional.
- Date of birth: used only to check you're 18 or older. Nobody else can see it.
- Consent record: the date and time you accepted these terms.
- What you do on Qlique: meetups you host (including any cover photo), meetups you join, group chat messages, and any reports or blocks you make.
- Passport check-ins: when you tap “I'm here” at a meetup, we record that you checked in and when. We use it to give you passport stamps and seals. Only you, and the host of that meetup, can see your check-ins.
- Technical data: basic logs our service providers keep automatically, such as IP addresses and login times, for security.
We do not collect ID documents, phone numbers, your location, health, religion, marital status or ethnic origin, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies we use keep you logged in.
Why we use it
- To create and run your account and let you log in.
- To show meetups and who is going, and to run each meetup's group chat.
- To keep women-only meetups for women, and Qlique for adults only.
- To handle reports, blocks and misuse, and keep the community safe.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests from authorities in Qatar.
We use your data on the basis of the consent you give when you sign up, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your account.
Who can see it
- Other members see your name or nickname on meetups you host or join.
- People in the same meetup see your messages in that meetup's chat, and your photo, flags and languages if you added them. Nobody else can.
- Nobody but Qlique sees your email, gender, reports or blocks.
- Service providers who store and run Qlique for us: Supabase (database and login, stored in Frankfurt, Germany), Vercel (website hosting), and Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google). They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, only when Qatari law requires it.
Because our providers are based outside Qatar, your data is stored and processed abroad, mainly in the European Union, which has strong data protection laws.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, meetups, RSVPs, chat messages, blocks and cover photos are deleted. Our providers' security logs are deleted on their own schedule. We may keep limited information longer only where the law requires it.
Your rights
- See your data: Profile → Download my data.
- Correct it: Profile → edit your name, photo, flags and languages. For anything else, email us.
- Delete it and withdraw consent: Profile → Delete my account.
- Object or complain: email [MEETRA CONTACT EMAIL]. We aim to reply within 30 days. You can also complain to Qatar's National Cyber Security Agency.
Age
Qlique is only for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.
Security
Your data is encrypted in storage and in transit, and database rules limit who can see or change what. No system is perfect: if a breach could seriously harm you, we'll tell you and the authorities as soon as possible.
Messages
We only email you about your account. We won't send marketing without asking you separately first.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
